Danielle Kinne, originally from the desserts of California, received her BFA in Dance Performance at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She began her formal training at Interlochen Arts Academy (Interlochen, MI) and attended Purchase College, SUNY for three semesters before deciding to experience the great big world. While living in California's Bay Area, Danielle was a member of Blind Geese Dance Company and Crash Burn and Die Dance Company. After relocating to Philadelphia, PA she danced for independent choreographers/artists such as Merian Soto, Marianela Boan (BoanDanzAction), Ashley Suttler, Megan Durham-Wall, Megan Mazarick, Olive Prince, Abigail Zbikowski, Erin Foreman-Murray, and Phillip Grosser. In 2006 Dani joined the Leah Stein Dance Company, a community of dancers devoted to exploring the connections between history, location, and improvisation. The company is also dedicated to the integration of community and transformation of urban spaces into artistic playgrounds and structural pieces of art. While with LSDC Danielle began to look for ways to create art that would transcend the realm of the norm, which lead her to explore the adaptation of movement within sites, an exploration that has informed her own movement and working relationships. She has performed company works such as Carmina Burana, GATE(a performance at Philadelphia’s famous Eastern State Penitentiary), Urban Echoes (a collaboration with the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia) and many more. Danielle has spent many summers at Interlochen Arts camp as dance faculty working with 8-15 year olds. She has also choreographed and performed as part of Philly Fringe Festival, the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, Bates Dance Festival, and Lincoln Center's Outdoor Performance series. Danielle left the Philadelphia dance community in 2012 and began a semester of teaching as adjunct faculty for Coker College (Hartsville, SC) where she instructed and nurtured her students in modern and ballet techniques. She then made the decision to pursue her MFA in Choreography with licensure at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she is currently working on the development of her superhuman powers as a teaching assistant and maker of dance. Her favorite food is $1 tacos, and she loves her dog Sadie.
